Autumn & Winter in the Garden: Why Now's the Time to Book In
As summer winds down and the evenings start to draw in, it’s easy to think the garden can be left to its own devices until spring. But here’s the thing – autumn and winter are some of the most important times for keeping your garden looking splendid all year round.
In fact, many of my regular clients use this quieter season as a chance to finally get those odd jobs sorted – the ones that have been quietly lurking on the to-do list for years!
And with my first summer fully booked within a matter of weeks (a huge thank you to everyone who’s welcomed me into their gardens!), now’s the perfect time to carry that momentum into the cooler months.

Essential Autumn Gardening Jobs
Garden Tidy-Ups & Seasonal Clearances Fallen leaves, overgrown borders, tired summer bedding – let’s give the garden a proper refresh so it heads into winter neat and tidy. I’ll take care of the weeding, trimming, lifting, and clearing.
Lawn Care & Recovery Autumn is ideal for giving your lawn a little TLC – from scarifying and aerating to applying autumn feed and reseeding any patchy spots. It’s all about building a stronger lawn ready to burst back in spring.
Shrub Pruning & Hedge Cutting Tidying shrubs, cutting hedges back into shape, and pruning at the right time can make a big difference to how things grow next year – and keeps everything looking neat over the winter.
Planting for Spring This is the season to get bulbs in the ground. Daffodils, crocus, tulips – they all need planting now for that big spring display. We can also move and divide perennials while the soil is still warm.
Mulching & Soil Improvement A good mulch not only looks tidy – it also insulates roots, helps soil structure, and keeps weeds down. I can supply compost or bark mulch and get your borders in great shape.

Custom Planters & Raised Beds Want to grow more veggies or give the patio a new look? I can build and plant raised beds or winter containers full of evergreen interest.
Jet Washing & Patio Cleaning Algae and moss build up quickly in damp months. I offer jet washing to get patios, paths, and decking looking fresh again – and safer underfoot too.
Wildlife-Friendly Touches From bird feeders to hedgehog homes, I can help make your garden a haven for wildlife this winter. It’s a lovely way to enjoy the garden, even when you’re wrapped up inside.
Gutter Clearing It’s not glamorous – but it’s essential! If you’ve got a bungalow or low-level roofline, I can safely clear leaves and debris from gutters to help prevent leaks or blockages.
